Students in all grades at TLHS are able to take Ms. Leah Padlo’s Art Classes. Students who are just entering into art classes must take an introduction class, then they can choose to take painting or drawing classes or even both. Their Junior and Senior year they have the opportunity to take AP Art. AP Students receive a college credit if they receive a three or higher on their portfolio exam. Some of the skills the students learn in art classes are: elements and principles of art, drawing skills & techniques, and painting skills & techniques.

Ms. Padlo has been teaching at TLHS for 10 years. She began her art career in 2015 after graduating from to Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI (IU Indianapolis) where she received a Bachelor of Art Education. “Art classes were my favorite classes going to school,” shared Padlo. “In high school, I took a cadet teaching course where I got to teach alongside my favorite middle school art teacher. That is when I fell in love with teaching and knew I wanted to teach art.”

Ms. Padlo’s former students have gone off to be book illustrators, art teachers, bakery owners, cake decorators, and nail art technicians.
