PSAT Assessment Plan for Success

Now is the time to plan for students to earn their best possible score on the PSAT Assessment on Wednesday, October 16 at TLHS. If you follow the suggestions below, students will have the best opportunity to score their best on the PSAT Assessment.

2-4 weeks prior to test day:

1.     Students should get familiar with the Bluebook App by going through the “Test Preview”

2.     Students can take a practice PSAT Assessment by clicking on the “Full-Length Practice” box in the Bluebook App, then choosing the PSAT-Related Assessment, then choosing PSAT 10, then choosing either Practice 1 or Practice 2 tests.

3.     Students can access the results from the practice PSAT Assessment they have taken using the Bluebook App by Signing into the College Boards My Practice website

4.     Students should know how to best utilize the College Board My Practice website to Review All Questions from the Practice PSAT Assessment they took on the Bluebook App, how to “Practice Specific Questions”, and how to “Practice on Khan Academy” using the Practice Test 1 Review.

The night before and the day of the PSAT Assessment

1.     Students should get a good night’s sleep

2.     They should leave their cell phones either turned off or on the kitchen counter, so it does not disturb them during the night while they are sleeping.

3.     Students should eat a good breakfast the day of the test.

4.     While taking the PSAT Assessment students should remember to take deep breaths, shake and/or wiggle, after every 2-3 questions. Make sure to answer or guess on every question on the PSAT Assessment.

If you or your student have questions or concerns in regards to the PSAT test administration, testing environment, and/or room assignment, please contact your child's counselor.
