The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) hosts a poster contest each year. This contest provides students from kindergarten through 12th grade a chance to have their art displayed nationally. Winning posters reflect the annual NACD Stewardship theme and highlight the work of conservation districts and their associations in protecting and enhancing natural resources. The contest starts locally, advances to state levels, then national. National winners receive recognition at NACD’s annual meeting. Locally this contest is sponsored by the Indiana District Employee Association and Soil & Water Districts.
This year's theme for the contest is "May the Forest Be with You Always". If any students are interested in participating, they or their parents can contact our office or visit https://www.indianadistrictemployeeassociation.com/poster-contest.html.

Beginning the week of March 4 all third grade students will be taking the IREAD-3 test. This is a standardized test that is mandated by the state to evaluate students' reading proficiency. Our teachers have been teaching students the skills necessary to become proficient readers and to be successful on the test all year. If students do not pass the test they will be required to participate in remediation and retake the test, beginning the week of May 15. Scores from the first round of testing will be available near Spring Break time.
